Eye acupuncture – a successful concept for treating diseases of the eye
Inspired by eye acupuncture from traditional Chinese medicine and the realm of holistic medicine, self-healing forces and specific regeneration regions can be activated in the organism with targeted pinpricks, helping to heal or at all events significantly improve eye function in cases of e.g., acute conjunctivitis, inflammations of the retina, retinal changes, macular degeneration, inflammations of the iris or dry eye.
In other eye diseases, which cannot be completely healed with eye acupuncture, exacerbations of the symptoms can be rendered less severe. No needles are put in the eye, instead they are placed for example in the hand, knee, foot and certain regions of the head.
An eye acupuncture session lasts about 30 minutes.
The fine acupuncture needles are placed on certain energy paths, the meridians, and release accumulated energy blocks. Unblocked energy flows keep the body functions in balance.
The number of eye acupuncture treatment sessions is determined by the disorder that is present and has to be treated. For acute disease symptoms, often just a few acupuncture treatments are sufficient. Chronic diseases such as macular degeneration require more sessions.
Eye acupuncture has proven particularly effective in treating the following disorders and diseases:
- Dry and wet AMD (age-related macular degeneration)
- Loss of sight due to brain dysfunction
- Glaucoma/Green star
- Various retinopathies and retinitis pigmentosa
- Diabetes-related eye diseases
- Other eye diseases
