Chiropractic

Chiropractic, like osteopathy, is one of the manual therapies. While osteopaths predominantly use softer, more insidious movements of the hands to get tension out of specific parts of the body, chiropractors use adjustments as a core part of their treatments. A joint is loosened or mobilized by targeted impulses. The origins of chiropractic are more than 2000 years old. It deals with functional disorders and pain of the entire musculoskeletal system and their consequences on the nervous system. Long-lasting pain leads to a change in posture and thus to new problems in the area of the muscles and joints. A joint that is restricted in its function causes the muscles to build up increased tension. If this tension lasts long enough, it can lead to various joint diseases due to increased pressure in the joint, which can often be treated well with chiropractic care. A chiropractor treats patients with their hands, focusing on the musculoskeletal system.
Chiropractic care has been proven effective for a variety of conditions and symptoms, such as:
  • intervertebral disc problems
  • movement restrictions
  • blockages
  • chest pain
  • chronic pain conditions
  • craniomandibular dysfunction
  • circulatory disorders
  • sensory disturbances
  • developmental delays in children and infants
  • malpositions (e.g. of the pelvis)
  • birth preparation and post-natal care for mother and child
  • balance disorders
  • body aches
  • lumbago
  • sciatic pain
  • headache
  • sacral pain
  • paralysis
  • lumbar pain
  • migraine
  • musculoskeletal disorders
  • muscle and nerve pain
  • neck pain
  • back pain radiating to arms and legs
  • weakness
  • dizziness
  • disorders in the digestive system
  • tennis elbow
Although chiropractic treatment cannot completely heal a chronic disease such as rheumatism, it can alleviate mobility restrictions and pain associated with it.
