New: Dendritic cell therapy (DZT) – immunotherapy
Using dendritic cells to train the immune system to defeat cancer.
In the ongoing fight against cancer, science is constantly presenting new strategies that give new hope to those affected and their families.
One of these pioneering methods is dendritic cell therapy (DZT), an innovative approach that supports the body’s own immune system in the fight against certain types of cancer.
This form of therapy can be seen as a special vaccination against cancer.
The role of dendritic cells
Dendritic cells play a crucial role as superheroes of our immune system by helping to fight off invaders such as cancer cells.
The GNTB uses these special cells to train the body’s immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells.
Dendritic cell therapy (DZT) procedure
Treatment with dendritic cell therapy (DZT) begins with a thorough examination by an experienced specialist and a blood sample to assess the patient’s suitability.
After a precise analysis, the blood sample is sent to a certified laboratory where the dendritic cells are prepared to recognize cancer cells.
The“cancer vaccine” is then produced from these cells.
After the preparation period, the dendritic cells are administered to the patient by subcutaneous injection.
There they activate the tumor antigen-specific T cells, which specifically search for the cancer cells and eliminate them.
The involvement of NK cells
The success of the therapy also depends on the number of NK cells (natural killer cells), which make up around 10-15% of the lymphocytes in the blood.
These cells are part of the innate immune system and can directly eliminate tumors.
Vaccination as a cancer therapy?
Dendritic cell therapy (DZT) is characterized by its remarkable effectiveness with few side effects.
In contrast to many conventional treatment methods, which are often associated with severe side effects, DZT offers a gentle yet effective approach to fighting cancer.
This method could also be described as a kind of“cancer vaccination“.
As scientists continue to research and improve dendritic cell therapy, it is becoming increasingly clear that this immunotherapy has the potential to fundamentally change the way we fight cancer in the future.
Our offer
At our Center for Advanced Medicine in Frankfurt am Main, we offer this innovative treatment on an outpatient basis.
The treatment cycle lasts 7-10 days.
Until the vaccine injection is administered, the patient can receive additional support in our clinic in the form of individual accompanying therapies.
Talk to our specialists about the possibilities of dendritic cell therapy (DZT ) and strengthen your immune system in the fight against cancer.
Areas of application of dendritic cell therapy (DZT)
DZT can be used successfully for the following types of cancer:
- Metastatic melanoma
- Metastatic brain tumor (e.g. glioblastoma)
- Metastatic breast cancer
- Metastatic stomach cancer (gastric carcinoma)
- Metastatic sarcoma
- Metastatic pancreatic cancer
- Metastatic lung cancer
- Metastatic liver cancer
